Project Engineer
Reporting to: C&DLs and MEICA & Commissioning Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage all MEICA design activities on allocated projects from Gate Way 3 (GW3) through to site delivery.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures, specifications and industry best practice.
- Report MEICA design progress and key project updates to the C&DL, MEICA & Commissioning Manager and Area MEICA Managers.
- Provide technical and quality support to Project Delivery Teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support subcontract management during project close-out.
Key Duties:
- Review and provide technical input into subcontract tenders, supplier specifications and scopes of work.
- Coordinate and review design deliverables, including specifications, schedules and drawings.
- Manage procurement deliverables, including free-issue mechanical and electrical plant and equipment.
- Liaise with design and procurement teams to manage technical queries and change control.
- Monitor project risks and employer-provided services throughout the design phase.
- Ensure commissioning requirements are embedded within the design process and support technical governance.
- Review Functional Design Specifications (FDS), P&IDs, control philosophies, equipment schedules, instrument lists and telemetry requirements.
- Assist in the development and review of Compliance and Commissioning Plans alongside Project Delivery Teams.
- Coordinate subcontractors during off-site manufacture and monitor programme progress.
- Attend design, progress and coordination meetings with internal teams, clients and subcontractors.
- Manage subcontractor interfaces and site deliverables.
- Review subcontractor Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure compliance with project requirements.
