Quality Engineer – AWE (Outside IR35)

Location: AWE Site
Rate: £50 per hour (Outside IR35)
Clearance: Must hold current DV Clearance

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our team supporting projects at AWE. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role across the full project lifecycle-from initial kick-off through to completion-ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance are achieved throughout.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and acceptance of procedures and documentation in accordance with QC1 requirements.

• Conduct QC inspections in line with approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).

• Ongoing review and final acceptance of Lifetime Records (LTRs).

• Carry out final release inspections to ensure all quality requirements are met.

• Witness testing activities as required.

• Attend project and quality-related meetings to support delivery and compliance.

Requirements

• Active DV Clearance (mandatory due to project timelines).

• Proven experience in Quality Engineering within complex or regulated environments (nuclear, defence, or similar).

• Strong understanding of quality control documentation, inspection processes, and QC1 compliance.

• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

• £50 per hour

• Start: Immediate (subject to existing DV clearance)
