    Job Title: Quantity Surveyor – Water Sector

    Location: The Midlands, UK

    Rate: £400-600 per day (Inside IR35, depending on references)

    Contract: Rolling, ongoing contract

    About the Role:

    Highfield Professional Solutions is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the water sector, working on projects across The Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled professional to contribute to significant infrastructure projects, ensuring cost efficiency and financial control. The successful candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying within the water or construction industries and will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost management and contract administration.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans.
    • Conduct detailed cost analysis and value engineering exercises.
    • Manage and control project finances, including forecasting, reporting, and monitoring expenditure.
    • Administer contracts, including preparation and evaluation of tenders, negotiation of contract terms, and management of variations.
    • Conduct risk assessments and manage risk registers.
    • Liaise with project teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project alignment.
    • Prepare and present financial reports and progress updates to senior management.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the water or construction sectors.
    • Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, techniques, and practices.
    • Excellent financial management and cost control skills.
    • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools, such as MS Excel and industry-specific software.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Relevant qualifications in quantity surveying, construction management, or related fields.
