    Role Overview:
    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Building Services Electrical Engineer to join our team for a 6-month contract at Manchester Airport. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering complex electrical engineering solutions, ensuring the highest technical standards are met. This position requires an individual who can communicate effectively with stakeholders, including the end client, and who can manage and coordinate a range of engineering tasks with minimal supervision.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Technical Excellence: Lead and deliver high-quality electrical engineering solutions for building services within the airport environment, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, and other critical systems.
    Design & Documentation: Oversee and contribute to the preparation of detailed designs, calculations, specifications, and tender documentation.
    Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices, including health and safety requirements.
    Client Interaction: Act as the main point of contact for the end client, maintaining strong, professional relationships, and ensuring their requirements and expectations are fully understood and met.
    Project Management: Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, manage project timelines, and ensure the delivery of tasks within budget and to the highest quality.
    Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical issues promptly, providing innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
    Mentorship & Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers within the team, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development.
    Qualifications & Experience:
    Chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional body (e.g., CIBSE, IET) is highly desirable.
    Extensive Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in building services electrical engineering, with a strong background in working on large, complex projects.
    Airport Experience: Previous experience working on airport projects or other similarly regulated environments is an advantage.
    Technical Proficiency: Expertise in electrical design software, as well as a strong understanding of current building regulations, standards, and industry practices.
    Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
    Leadership: Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing project deliverables.
    Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
    Adaptability: Ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment and work flexibly to meet project demands.
    Additional Information:
    Working Hours: Full-time, with potential for some flexibility.
    Location: Primarily based at Manchester Airport, a couple of days a week, the rest from home remotely.
    Contract: Initial 6-month contract with the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance.
