Our client are looking for a multiple project managers to work as part of their consultancy business within the UK infrastructure sector. Predominantly as a business, they are focussed on projects within Water & Environment, Rail, and Highways.

The role

This requirement is open to Project Managers, Senior Projects Managers and Associate level Project Managers for a number of potential locations throughout the UK, with a particular focus on the South West and Midlands and surrounding regions where you will be joining a growing team of like-minded people that have a passion for innovation and delivering cutting edge solutions. The focus of these positions will be within the UK Water & Environment sector.

As a Project Manager, you will be expected to work within a team to successfully manage and deliver capital investment projects. This role predominantly involves providing client-side project management support during all stages of the project delivery lifecycle from option studies, option development, construction tender support through to NEC or JCT contract administration.

Ideally you will have a background in infrastructure project management and experience of the delivery of a range of multi-disciplinary projects within Water & Environment environments. You’ll be familiar with working in large, geographically dispersed multidisciplinary teams on projects at all stages of the project lifecycle including development from feasibility to detailed design and construction.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in large scale water infrastructure:

  • Experience working within large water or EA schemes would be beneficial, either for a consultancy or the end client.
  • Client-side project management, including stakeholder, schedule, and contract management
  • Ownership of and responsibility for the successful delivery of your project
  • Preparing and maintaining schedules, including dependencies and resources
  • Identifying and monitoring project risks and opportunities
  • Quality management processes for project activities and outputs
  • Managing stakeholders, taking account of their levels of influence and particular interests
  • Establishing and maintaining project governance reviews
  • Developing and managing teams
  • Managing suppliers
  • Ensure commissions are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently and on time
  • Strong relationships are developed with clients and members of the cross-functional team
  • Business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross- selling opportunities, are identified, and acted upon
  • Provide leadership within project management business and provide leadership and mentoring to the team
  • Manage the delivery of project management team outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards
  • Co-ordination and sign off on all management information produced by project management teams prior to issue
  • To ‘win’ clients through strong business development skills

Preferred Qualifications/experience:

  • Academic or vocational qualification in a relevant technical or project management discipline.
  • 5 years of demonstrable experience within a project management role
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution
  • Experience of contract management, particularly within the NEC suite of contracts would be beneficial

The Company

Our client has recently been awarded a 7-year contract for the maintenance and improvement of the Defence Built Estate, to include in excess of 20,000 assets.

They are a new business, formed to deliver infrastructure, asset, and facilities management services into the UK Defence Sector. They are a 50:50 Joint Venture between 2 already established big players in the FM and Utilities markets with over 55 years’ experience.

They are committed to enabling Defence capability through maintaining and enhancing the built estate in which our Armed Forces live, work and train.

The role

Overseeing the delivery of Reactive & Programmed maintenance on the Establishment to ensure Key Performance indicators are met and tasks are completed to a standard that meets the contractual ‘First Time Fix’ requirements.

  • Undertake Programmed maintenance inspections as required.
  • Undertake assurance activities in line with Contract Quality Plan
  • Ensuring that all Maintenance and Billable Works activity carried out on site is conducted within JSP 375. Working closely with the AP’s.
  • Delivering Billable works (<£25k) as directed by Line Manager.
  • Reviewing all Inspection Reports and certification raising the necessary Remedial tasking and SONs for works >IRT, as appropriate, ensuring that Statutory remedials are correctly identified and actioned on the CAFM.
  • Carrying out the duties of; Asbestos Responsible Person, Legionella Responsible Person, Temporary Works Coordinator and CDM Principal Designer/Principal Contractor.
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce energy consumption on site and initiate Billable Works as appropriate by the raising of Statements of Need.
  • Drafting Statements of Need (SONs) to support the Sustain/Maintain/Change Billable Works requirements needed to manage the estate effectively.

Could this be for you?

  • Experience in delivery of Planned Maintenance and KPI management
  • ONC/BTEC level qualification electrical/mechanical engineering related discipline (or equivalent experiential experience)
  • Significant experience in Construction, Property Maintenance or related field including:
  • Experience of the Asbestos at Work Act, energy performance, Sustainability, CDM regulations and ideally the MOD environment
  • Technical training to maintain and develop technical competence and awareness in the following:
  • Asbestos / Legionellosis Responsible Person
  • Familiarity with the sites and assets for which the person is responsible
  • Emergency first aid
  • Fire safety
  • IOSH or equivalent qualification
  • Previous use of CAFM applications
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • An understanding of energy reduction methods

This is a Multi site position where you have the potential to earn between £29-32k P/A Salary. Working on a Standard Shift Pattern; with the need for going on an on call rota also, some nights maybe needed for additional out of hours works.

The position

Carry out PPM on the Electrical Engineering services as required by the schedule. While proactively pursuing and fixing faults as and when you identify them.

Support the sites M&E services, required on the PPM Schedule, while identifying potential defects that may occur.

Could this role be for you?

  • Electrical qualifications NVQ 3 or equivalent
  • 2391 / 2395 / 4338 Testing and Inspection (Preferred)
  • 17th edition as a minimum – Ideally 18th edition
