Job Title: Commissioning Engineer – Water Sector

Location: Bournemouth, UK

Rate: £400 per day (Outside IR35)

Contract: Initial 6-month contract

About the Role:

Highfield Professional Solutions is seeking a skilled and experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our client’s team in the water sector. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects, ensuring the successful commissioning of water treatment and distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the commissioning process for water treatment plants, pumping stations, and distribution networks.
  • Develop and execute commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules.
  • Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and optimisation to ensure systems meet performance specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with design, construction, and operations teams to identify and resolve issues.
  • Document commissioning activities, including test results and as-built documentation.
  • Provide technical support and training to operations staff.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards throughout the commissioning process.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Commissioning Engineer in the water sector.
  • Strong understanding of water treatment processes, mechanical and electrical systems, and instrumentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Flexibility to travel to various project sites as required.
