Section Engineer
Location: A417, Gloucester
Rate: Competitive Daily Rate (Inside IR35)
Contract Length: 3 Months (Strong Scope for Extension)

We are currently seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join a major infrastructure project on the A417 in Gloucester. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a contract on a high-profile scheme, with strong potential for extension and future progression.
This role is suited to an engineer with proven experience working on major civil engineering or highways projects, particularly within earthworks and drainage packages.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out for earthworks, drainage, and associated civils works
- Carrying out site surveying, levels, and topographical checks to support project delivery
- Managing QA documentation, as-builts, and site records
- Ensuring works are delivered in line with design specifications and programme requirements
- Liaising with site teams, subcontractors, and project management
- Conducting site surveys and interpreting technical drawings
- Supporting health & safety compliance across site activities
- Monitoring quality standards and ensuring best practice is maintained
- Assisting with progress reporting and site coordination
Essential Requirements
- Previous major project experience within civil engineering / infrastructure
- Strong background in earthworks and drainage
- Valid CSCS card
- Safety Critical Medical certification
- Proven experience in a Section Engineer or similar engineering position
- Strong setting out and surveying capability

- SSSTS or SMSTS
- CAT & Genny
- CAD
- Modelling experience
- Highways or major road project experience
