Electrical Authorised Person –
Hampshire/Berkshire Area
£40- £47k + Company Car/Allowance
The Company
Our client has been awarded a 10-year contract for the maintenance and improvement of the Defence Built Estate in the South East and have supported the defence sector for over 70 years in delivering maintenance and repair, project management, and refurbishment services to both operational and support facilities.
From large scale re-developments, through to minor refurbishments, their expert teams collaborate with key stakeholders to streamline designs and value engineer project briefs.
The role
The Authorised Person (AP) is part of a team which support the establishments within the area to ensure compliance with JSP 375. The AP reports to the Area Manager, however, is appointed by the Authorising Engineer (part of the assurance team).
Duties:
- To produce Permits to Work,
- To produce and issue Standing Instructions,
- To assess candidates and issue Skilled Persons Appointments.
- To prepare for audits and support the auditor during this audit.
- To take ownership and lead the remediation/closure of Corrective Action Reports (CARs),
- Regularly review the Skilled Persons register and keep up to date,
- Provide technical support as required.
Could this be for you?
- Electrical Qualifications, ideally EIC QS, 2391 minimum
- Authorised persons qualification (Highly desirable)
- MOD/Defence sector experience (Highly desirable)
- Technical qualifications & training as required byJSP 375, including:
- Emergency first aid
- Fire safety
- Management level qualification in H&S and Environment (e.g. SMSTS)
- Continuing Professional Development
Training:
The role is for a multi-disciplinary AP. Through a reasonable (and agreed) period of time, via formal training, peer support and site familiarity; the AP will take on disciplines as detailed below. Depending on the candidate’s background, the strongest will usually be attained first;
- Electrical (HV, LV, Hazardous Areas, Aeronautical Ground Lighting)
