An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Site Engineer to join a major road widening project in Sittingbourne. This is a fantastic role for an experienced engineer looking for long-term work with a leading contractor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing site activities and ensuring work is completed to specification

  • Setting out, surveying, and quality control for the road widening scheme

  • Assisting with site documentation, method statements, and risk assessments

  • Liaising with project managers, subcontractors, and the client

  • Ensuring health & safety and environmental compliance on site

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Site Engineer on highways or infrastructure projects

  • Proficiency in setting out using GPS & total station equipment

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and health & safety regulations

  • CSCS Card (essential)

Senior Commissioning Engineer

Senior Commissioning Engineer – Burham, Kent – £450 per day (Outside IR35)

We are seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to join a leading water supply project in Burham, Kent. This is a 12-month contract with a rate of £450 per day (Outside IR35), offering an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of a complex water infrastructure project.

The Role:

As a Senior Commissioning Engineer, you will report to the Area Commissioning Manager and lead a team of Commissioning Engineers to ensure water treatment and distribution systems are installed, tested, and optimized to meet operational and regulatory standards. You will play a critical part in transitioning the project from construction to full operational status, ensuring all systems function safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and review commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures.
  • Lead and coordinate commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
  • Review design deliverables, including P&IDs, control philosophy, and telemetry requirements.
  • Conduct and oversee testing procedures, including pressure tests, functional tests, and performance assessments.
  • Oversee Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
  • Monitor water processes using SCADA and respond to telemetry-generated alarms.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, regulators, and site operators.
  • Ensure all commissioning activities comply with health and safety regulations and environmental standards.
  • Prepare reports and maintain accurate commissioning documentation.
  • Mentor and develop junior commissioning engineers.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Commissioning Engineer in the water industry.
  • Strong knowledge of water treatment processes and infrastructure.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and health & safety requirements.
  • Electrical/ICA commissioning experience is essential.
