The role

As the M&E project manager you will be responsible for overseeing the electrical and mechanical services installation on data centre projects valued between £500k and £10m. You will oversee the associated sub-contractors and work closely with the end client to ensure a successful delivery. You will have strong commercial acumen and experience delivering fast paced projects.

The ideal candidate will currently be working as a M&E project manager for a MEP contractor that operates on projects within the data centre or high technology sector.

The position

Contract Quality Manager

Circa £47,500 +Company car or car allowance.

The Company

Our client has recently been awarded a 7-year contract for the repairs, maintenance, void preparation, and substantial programme of projects to a housing stock of 27,000 across the South of the country.

They are a new business, formed to deliver infrastructure, asset and facilities management services into the UK Defence Sector. They are a 50:50 Joint Venture between 2 already established big players in the FM and Utilities markets with over 55 years’ experience.

The business will be a minimum of £100m pa, to potentially £400m, dependant on contract wins. There are plans for further growth in the future.

The role

The Contract Quality Manager will be accountable for the delivery of the contract assurance programme. Will support operations with guidance and solutions to ensure work activities of employees and their subcontractors are completed in line with the required quality standards.

The role focuses on Quality and Assurance Management within the Accommodation Contracts in Defence, supporting Line Management on implementation and ongoing development of the Quality Management System.

Our parent companies, have established Quality and Assurance teams and a huge range of management processes which have been reviewed and incorporated within our Management system.

Duties:

  • Accountability for the development and delivery of contractual and internal assurance activities required on the contract. This includes a joint supplier/client audit programme for all key processes and systems for delivery of the contractual outputs.
  • Management of the relationship with the client assurance teams, being the single point of contact within the region for any quality or assurance related activity.
  • Attend and contribute to management meetings, produce monthly informative and analytical reports, undertaking frequent site inspections to monitor compliance and were needed taking decisive actions.
  • Maintain the Quality Management System: implementation and continual improvement of QM systems, procedures and processes.
  • Delivery of all assurance reporting requirements both for the client and internal stakeholders
  • Work closely with the client to drive a risk-based assurance programme over the life of the contract
  • Provide support, guidance, and training to the operational teams on matters relating to quality and assurance.
  • Ownership and chairing of the client meetings (monthly/quarterly).
  • Monitoring outstanding actions within the ASSURE system, working with action owners where required to support resolution.
  • Ensure the contract is operating in line with the Management System, ISO9001 and AQAP2105
  • Support ISO certification audit programme

Additional / special features of the role Location will be flexible, with home working where practical an option, but there will be requirements for travel within the UK to support the teams and activities of the business

The ME&I Estimator must successfully support the Project Managers to fulfil the company’s commitments in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner, striving for customer satisfaction and a safety-first culture.

The ME&I Estimator will demonstrate good commercial and Technical aptitude in playing a pivotal role in delivering specialist projects (mainly within the UK Water Industry) with individual values ranging from £5K to £500K and must have a committed and flexible ‘can do’ attitude to undertaking the estimation of a variety of Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls (with some minor mechanical / civils) related schemes.

Operating within a small project management team there will be a requirement to travel for site surveys, site visits, meetings, etc. and there may be a need for this role to work from remote site office locations or client offices depending on the scope of the project.

  • Initial project feasibility, survey and estimation
  • Preparation of tenders – site surveys and client scoping meetings
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with clients, client’s professional representatives, sub-contractors and suppliers.

The role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious Grounds Maintenance professional. Initially the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the mobilisation of an industry leading Housing and Estates Maintenance contract, before going onto to be our Estates Manager post in-service date for the SE.

The Estates Manager will be responsible for developing and maintained grounds maintenance plans across for all contracted estates. Providing specialist support to local delivery teams throughout the region. Assuring delivery of grounds and tree maintenance by our specialist service providers.

This is a key role, reporting to our Regional Manager; experience of grounds and tree maintenance is a must.

Key accountabilities:

  • Ensure grounds maintenance are delivered in accordance with all statutory and mandatory requirements.
  • Produce and update Grounds Maintenance plans for all estates within the contract.
  • Produce and update Snow and Ice plans for all estates within the contract.
  • Work with grounds maintenance provider to ensure sufficient resource is available for the delivery of grounds maintenance, to specification, for the current and upcoming season.
  • Act as subject matter expert and initial point of escalation for grounds maintenance issues across all estates in contract.
  • Work with the grounds maintenance provider to produce tree management surveys and assure the delivery of all remedial works.
  • Produce scope for GiS mapping of the estate and act as Project Manager for the delivery of the GiS mapping programme.
  • Make recommendations and agree scope changes to our client to improve the “kerb appeal” of their estates.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce innovation to improve the service delivery.
  • Assure the delivery of maintenance to “oversized gardens”.
  • Support with the resolution of any grounds maintenance related complaints.
  • Develop collaborative working relationship with our client and key stakeholders.
  • Liaise with the commercial team to ensure accurate collection of delivery cost for grounds maintenance.

Could this be for you?

  • Must have experience working in management roles within commercial grounds maintenance and landscaping sector.
  • Production of prices for grounds maintenance and one-off projects.
  • Member of the Royal Horticultural Society or equivalent.
  • Management level qualification in H&S and Environmental management.

Vary levels of electrical experience will be considered, with ideal candidates holding a time served apprenticeship or C&G qualification such as 2391 test and inspect.
