Location: Taunton, Somerset (Wastewater Treatment Site)
Contract: 6-Month Rolling Contract
Rate: Up to £400 per day (Inside IR35)


Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join our team at a wastewater treatment site in Taunton, Somerset. This role is crucial for overseeing mechanical operations and ensuring the smooth execution of projects within the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the mechanical team, ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records, including progress reports and documentation of any issues or incidents.
  • Assist in the planning and scheduling of work to optimise resource use and minimise downtime.

Requirements:

  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification is mandatory.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor, preferably within the wastewater or water treatment industry.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and processes related to wastewater treatment.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
