We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join our team for a major infrastructure project at M25 Junction 10. This is a significant undertaking requiring a professional with substantial experience in large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring that work progresses according to schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Site Supervision: Coordinate and supervise the work of subcontractors and site personnel, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Planning and Coordination: Assist in the development of project plans, schedules, and resource allocation. Work closely with the project manager and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures, ensuring that all work meets the required standards and specifications.
  • Problem Solving: Identify potential issues and risks, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the project remains on track.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular progress reports, including updates on milestones, budgets, and any deviations from the plan.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain effective communication with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure their needs and expectations are met.
  • Documentation: Ensure all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and properly maintained.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience working as a Site Engineer or similar role on major projects, particularly within the infrastructure sector.
  • Education: Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certifications: Relevant professional certifications in project management or civil engineering are advantageous.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to handle high-pressure situations.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction processes, health and safety regulations, and quality control procedures.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with various stakeholders.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in project management software and other relevant tools

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems for water treatment facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Create detailed electrical schematics, layouts, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, project managers, and site personnel, to deliver high-quality design solutions.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical design issues, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and best practices in electrical design for the water sector.
  • Ensure all designs meet environmental and health & safety standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer, preferably within the water industry.
  • Strong proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems, control panels, and instrumentation used in water treatment facilities.
  • Experience with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., BS7671, IEC, and other industry-specific codes).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Relevant certifications in electrical design or engineering.
  • Knowledge of sustainable and energy-efficient design practices.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
