  • A detailed working knowledge of relevant principles, practices and procedures in Highway Design, Engineering construction.
  • Proven extensive experience of successfully designing and implementing (ideally) large and / or complex highway improvement schemes such as signal junctions, Sustainable Transport Packages and some major projects.
  • An advance user of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and related design packages such as KeyLINES, AutoSIGN and AutoTURN in order to produce high quality detailed design drawings. Knowledge of highway contracts, specifications, method of measurement, item coverage and pricing schedules relating to highway projects and schemes preferable but not compulsory.
  • A good working knowledge of the CDM regulations and ability to ensure that the responsibilities and obligations are met.Proven track record in understanding, meeting and exceeding customer and stakeholder expectations, including the provision of sound professional and technical advice including guidance on legislation, as well as the ability to promote best practice.

A full valid driving licence and use of own vehicle.

My client are looking for a competent contracts engineer/coordinator to support their team based from Farnborough, working predominantly within the water utilities sector.

The position on offer is a permanent staff role working on a full time basis.

Overall Job Objective.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities.

  • Collaborate with the management of the company and assist with the implementation and execution of the key objectives for the further development of the business.
  • Be responsible for expediting sub-contracts for the supply, installation and commissioning of mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring that all jobs are completed on time, on or below budget, to the required quality standards and to our customers complete satisfaction.
  • Be responsible for liaising with customers and suppliers, to facilitate the procurement of parts and materials, ensuring that timely and satisfactory responses are provided for the business and for all customers.
  • Be responsible for the smooth running of customer sub-contracts in accordance with the predetermined program of works and estimated price schedules for each project and to ensure the profitability of the company is maintained or exceeded at all times.
  • To liaise closely with colleagues on a day to day basis to ensure tasks are completed as and when required.
  • Respond to customer requirements and provide continuously high levels of service, to ensure that complete customer satisfaction is maintained, and repeat business is secured.
  • To ensure the simPRO software package is always utilized to maintain all the necessary records and business transactions.
  • To assist with the production of reports and forecasts demonstrating the performance of your jobs on a monthly and/or daily basis, or at any frequency requested by the senior management.

Site Manager

The company

You will be joining a forward-thinking main contractor based in West London who are renowned for being specialists in turnkey Design and Build, operating in the UK & Europe.

The position

As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for organising all labour, material, and plant requirements as per the project programme and reviewing regularly to ensure progress is in line with agreed targets and timescales. Also scheduling, manage and unload (if required) all material and plant deliveries and ensuring items are stored and allocated correctly.

This is for a major new build infrastructure project near Chobham, Surrey. Enabling works start in less than 4 weeks.

Could this role be for you?

  • Experienced in groundworks, piling, drainage, concrete, builds
  • Experience working on steel frame
  • Preferably a Degree or HND/HNC (in Civil Engineering)
