You will work on a variety of projects across all sectors including Industrial, commercial, education and residential. These projects will be based around the midlands and will require to travel to local sites.

The Position

Our client is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their already successful team to work closely with management to work with some of their most prestigious clients. The role offers an opportunity for hybrid working and exposure to interesting projects across a plethora of industries.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a design team delivering reports, specifications, performance and detailed design solutions
  • Use specialist computer-aided design (CAD) and BIM (Revit) software and other resources to design the compliant systems solutions
  • Undertake design calculations to support and demonstrate compliance with client requirements aligned to the proposed solution
  • Undertake site survey and capture data relevant to the appointment i.e. initial survey, on-going site inspections, defect recording and witness
  • Reviewing construction design details and making comment
  • Attend a range of project group and technical meetings
  • Ensure that the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements
  • Advise clients and architects on energy use and conservation in a range of buildings and sites, aiming to minimise the environmental impact and reduce the carbon footprint

Experience and Skills Required

  • Good time management
  • Experience of design solutions from conception through to completion including calculations, drawings, specifications, etc aligned to RIBA stages and BSRIA BG6
  • Qualification with a Building Services degree or higher educational qualification (HNC/HND)
  • Working towards IEng registration
  • Revit software usage is beneficial but training will be provided
  • IES modelling would be an advantageous skill
  • Good oral and written communication

The role
We are looking for a Facilities manager to deliver a range of hard facilities services to buildings in line with contractual commitments within the FM prisons contract.
Ensure that all Hazards are identified and that risk is reduced
Ensure that all staff are aware of and comply with the Health and Safety Policy
Achieve and maintain Statutory and Mandatory Compliance
Ensure all corporate policies and procedures are implemented and complied with.
Carry out audits and spot checks to confirm service delivery by both direct employees and sub-contractors is of the required quality.
Carry out first line management duties with staff including disciplinary and employment processes.
To oversee the day to day operation and strategic management of the Estate / building on behalf of the Client.
Ensure that all hazards are identified and that suitable and sufficient risk assessments are completed to reduce or eliminate risk
Ensure all employees have the correct resources to undertake their roles eg PPE, tools, etc.
Provide regular performance feedback to team via monthly one to one meetings.
Agree personal development plans with all employees as part of the annual review.
Communicate and promote an understanding of contract performance.
Ensure that KPIs are achieved and that staff are aware of their role in service delivery.
Update the Environmental Management System for site and ensure that measures to reduce the risk to the environment are adhered to.
Generate revenue through additional works and monitor the P & L for site.

Civil 3D Designer – 12 Months – Contract – £40/hr to £50/hr (based on a 37 hour week)

Introduction

Highfield Professional Solutions are working with a well-known brand and reputable organisation in the UK Water Sector. Due to a substantial increase in projects and schemes, our client has an opportunity for a Civil 3D Designer to join them on a contract basis for a minimum term of 6 to 12 months, with a strong likelihood of extension or the option to take a permanent contract of employment.

The Opportunity

As a Civil 3D Designer, you will be working alongside the Digital Design Manager & Lead Digital Designer. You will be working on a variety of clean and wastewater projects and schemes with responsibilities based around the following:

  • Civil CAD Design
  • Detailed long sections and layout
  • Networks (pipework – clean and wastewater)
  • Alignments
  • On-site surveys for structures and pipework

Please note that this role is likely to be determined inside of IR35.

Our client provides general Facilities Maintenance and Construction project work to the commercial sector as well as facilities maintenance services to the Public Sector and Private Sector at multiple sites. This role is across two large Government contract based in Birmingham

The contract is managed from our client’s state of the art building, in Solihull, and incorporates the delivery of building and infrastructure maintenance, considerable additional works (Small Works & Projects), cleaning and security services, waste and grounds maintenance and further services, such as reception and porterage.

The role

The role of the QS -FM role will ensure the successful delivery of all non PPM related additional works (specifically Remedials, but may also include Reactives and New Works) with a value between £0 and £10k from their initial inception through to handover.

You will liaise with the commercial team with the aim of procuring Remedial Works in the most cost effective manner, demonstrating ‘value for money’ to the clients. They will identify and procure the services of specialist contractors as required to successfully deliver their allocated works. It will be the Estimator’s responsibility to manage compliance and client agreed methodology, governance and approvals. They will also take ownership of Health and Safety on Remedial Works so that it is effectively managed.

The role involves the direct line management of a number of team members.

The successful candidate will ideally hold SC security clearance and preferably also CTC clearance. Security clearance is a prerequisite for this position.

Could this be for you?

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of Estimating small remedial works with a demonstrable experience of leading and managing a team.

Ideally experienced in working in a similar environment providing services to Government Departments and M&E biased.

  • Fully conversant with all applicable legislation, regulations and standards.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and implementation of the NEC 3 suite of contracts (Term Service Contract).
  • SC Clearance is essential for this role
  • Membership of a construction related institute e.g. RICS/CIOB/RIBA/CIBSE/MIET or APM Membership preferable
