Contract Length: 6-Month Rolling Contract (expected to run until 2027)
Rate: £400 – £420 per day (Outside IR35)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join our team on a long-term project in the water sector. As part of this role, you will provide leadership and coordination for all electrical activities, ensuring high standards in quality, health, safety, and environmental compliance. Reporting directly to the Project Manager or Operations Director, you will play a key role in delivering excellence on assigned projects.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage electrical activities within the project area in line with the contract, company policies, and UK legislation.
- Direct and organize site teams and subcontractors to meet agreed targets efficiently.
- Review electrical installation designs (loops, cable schedules, calculations, routes) alongside the design electrical engineer.
- Enforce and establish best practices in electrical installations.
- Provide technical guidance to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Liaise with the design team for technical queries and manage design changes effectively.
- Prepare weekly/monthly site program lookaheads in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Identify and communicate changes to the contracted scope of work, ensuring proper authorization before implementation.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors through effective communication.
- Review and approve method statements and risk assessments for electrical installations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, permits to work, and site documentation standards.
Requirements:
- Qualifications:
- Electrical Engineering discipline qualification.
- SSSTS/SMSTS and First Aid certifications.
- PASMA training (preferred).
- 18th Edition (BS7671) compliance knowledge.
- Experience:
- Extensive experience in site electrical installation within the water industry.
- Proven ability to manage sub-contractors and oversee installations such as instrumentation, pumps, blowers, panels, and systems integration.
- Familiarity with major UK water company electrical standards and WIMES specifications.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical design documents, including schematics, schedules, and diagrams.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and best practices.
