About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support critical infrastructure projects under the United Utilities Framework. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of water and wastewater projects, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and excellence in execution.
As part of a dynamic team, you will oversee projects through design, construction, commissioning, and handover, working closely with stakeholders and contractors. Project values typically range from £500k to £3M, with the focus on single large-scale sites or multiple smaller projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of infrastructure projects, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Develop project scopes, provide oversight during design, and coordinate construction activities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including CDM regulations and site-specific safety procedures.
- Drive cost control, forecasting, and programme planning, maintaining efficiency and value for money.
- Liaise with United Utilities operational teams, customers, and supply chain partners to promote collaboration.
- Monitor and mitigate project risks, escalating issues promptly as required.
- Prepare and deliver project performance reports on SHEQ, costs, and timelines.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Proven experience in the water industry delivering infrastructure projects.
- Competent knowledge of CDM regulations and construction practices.
- Relevant water industry certifications, including:
- CITB SMSTS.
- EUSR Water Hygiene.
- Confined Space Working (preferred).
Desirable:
- HNC/HND or degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
