Job Description: Electrician – Water Treatment Site, Plymouth
Rate: circa. £260-280 CIS or Outside IR35
Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled and qualified Electrician to join our team, working on a water treatment site in Plymouth. This role involves performing maintenance, repair, and installation tasks to ensure the smooth operation of electrical systems and equipment critical to the site’s functionality. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial environments and a commitment to upholding safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine and preventative maintenance on electrical systems, machinery, and equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Electrical Installation: Install, upgrade, and commission electrical equipment as required to support site operations.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently, minimising downtime and ensuring safety.
- Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and method statements, to maintain a safe working environment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs in line with company and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with site engineers, contractors, and other team members to support project objectives and maintenance schedules.
- Inspections: Conduct regular electrical system inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Energy Efficiency: Recommend improvements to enhance energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Essential:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- Proven experience in industrial or water treatment environments.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and safety procedures.
- Full UK driving license.

- Desirable:
- COMPEX certification for hazardous areas.
- Experience with PLCs and SCADA systems.
- First Aid and Health & Safety certifications.
