North London | £550-£650 per day (Inside IR35)

The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor at Barhale, you’ll play a key role within project teams, supporting delivery and senior management while developing your commercial expertise. Projects range from £200k to £10m+ across civil engineering and infrastructure, including frameworks, bespoke works, and emergency projects.

You’ll be responsible for cost control, forecasting, and commercial reporting, helping drive efficiency, identify opportunities, and mitigate risk across projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Commercial: Cost/value reporting, cash flow forecasting, CVRs, applications for payment, subcontract procurement, and final accounts
• Stakeholder Management: Liaise with clients and third parties on variations, claims, and commercial matters
• Cost Control: Track expenditure, forecast recovery, and support project teams in improving efficiency
• Contracts: Manage NEC/IChemE contracts and subcontract agreements, ensuring risks are identified and controlled
• Procurement: Oversee subcontractor engagement and supply chain relationships
• Processes: Ensure compliance with internal procedures and support continuous improvement

About You

• Essential:
  • Construction industry experience
  • Strong commercial and cost management background
  • Knowledge of NEC/IChemE contracts and construction law
  • Experience with subcontract procurement and financial control
  • Strong communication, organisation, and IT skills
• Desirable:
  • RICS (or working towards)
  • Degree/HND in Quantity Surveying
  • CSCS card
  • Estimating experience or background with a main contractor
