    Senior Quantity Surveyor

    Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for your next long-term contract on a major civil engineering project?
    We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading infrastructure contractor for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a high-profile project in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of key commercial activities on a minimum 9-month contract, with strong potential for extension.

    The Role

    As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a pivotal role in the commercial management of the project, supporting procurement activities, subcontractor management, commercial reporting and audit processes.
    The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with proven experience working under NEC contracts and a sound understanding of other forms of contract.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the commercial management of project packages.
    • Administer NEC contracts, including compensation events and change management.
    • Manage subcontractor procurement, accounts, valuations and final accounts.
    • Support and lead procurement activities across multiple work packages.
    • Undertake commercial audits and ensure contractual compliance.
    • Cost forecasting, reporting and risk management.
    • Work closely with project and operational teams to maximise commercial performance.
    • Contract administration using CEMAR where applicable.

    Requirements

    • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or major infrastructure.
    • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts.
    • Experience with multiple forms of contract.
    • Previous experience managing subcontractors.
    • Procurement experience is essential.
    • Commercial audit experience is highly desirable.
    • Previous experience within the civil engineering sector is preferred.
    • Experience using CEMAR is advantageous.
    • Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

      • 4 days per week in the office for local candidates.
      • 3 days per week in the office for candidates lodging away from home.
