    Site Engineer – Lower Thames Crossing, Tilbury
    £500 per day | Inside IR35 | Initial Contract to End of November, with Extension Very Likely (18-24 Months Scope Ahead)
    Our client is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join the enabling works team on the Lower Thames Crossing near Tilbury – one of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects, currently in its early enabling phase ahead of main tunnelling works starting in 2028.
    This is an excellent opportunity to get in early on a major, long-running National Highways scheme, with a strong likelihood of extension and 18-24 months of further scope of works ahead.
    The Role

    • Setting out using GPS and Total Station across a range of enabling works activities
    • Supporting delivery of archaeological plots, compound construction, vegetation clearance, road diversions, and ecology works
    • Setting out and monitoring drainage and roadworks activities
    • Producing permits to dig, and carrying out CAT and Genny scanning ahead of excavation works
    • Running site briefings and toolbox talks
    • Recording daily site records, diaries, and progress documentation
    • Working closely with the wider engineering and site management team across a fast-moving, multi-disciplinary enabling works programme

    About the Contract

    • Initial contract to end of November, with extension very highly likely
    • 18-24 months of scope of works ahead on this phase of the project
    • Inside IR35
    • Weekend working available, but optional

    What You’ll Need

    • Solid setting out experience using GPS and Total Station
    • Experience across enabling works: archaeological plots, compounds, vegetation clearance, road diversions, ecology works, drainage, roadworks
    • Experience producing permits to dig and using CAT and Genny equipment
    • Confident running briefings and maintaining accurate daily site records
    • EUSR 1 and 2 desirable and advantageous
    • CSCS card and full UK driving licence
