    Rate: £500-550 per day

    About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced MEICA Commissioning Lead to oversee and coordinate commissioning activities for water and wastewater infrastructure projects under the Southern Water Framework. This is a pivotal role in the successful delivery of projects, focusing on the safe and efficient commissioning of Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation (MEICA) systems.

The Commissioning Lead will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and operational standards, driving projects through their final stages and ensuring successful handovers to the client.

    Key Responsibilities

    Commissioning Leadership

    • Take hands-on ownership of MEICA commissioning activities, ensuring alignment with project specifications and operational requirements.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for commissioning on-site, liaising between contractors, design teams, and client representatives.
    • Provide technical guidance and leadership to commissioning teams across multiple sites.

    Planning and Execution

    • Develop and execute detailed commissioning plans and schedules tailored to project needs.
    • Coordinate and oversee the testing, inspection, and validation of MEICA systems, including functional and performance testing.
    • Identify and address technical challenges during commissioning, escalating unresolved issues to the project manager when necessary.

    Health, Safety, and Compliance

    • Ensure all commissioning activities adhere to health and safety protocols, including compliance with CDM regulations.
    • Conduct site inspections and audits to maintain high safety and operational standards.
    • Ensure the completion and accuracy of commissioning documentation, including certificates, RAMS, and O&M manuals.

    Handover and Documentation

    • Facilitate smooth handover processes to operational teams, ensuring all systems are fully operational and meet client requirements.
    • Verify and sign off commissioning deliverables, including reports, test results, and as-built documentation.

    Candidate Requirements

    Essential:

    • Demonstrable experience in a MEICA commissioning role, ideally in the water or wastewater treatment sector.
    • Strong technical knowledge of water treatment processes, pumping stations, and associated systems.
    • Experience leading or coordinating commissioning teams and activities across complex projects.
    • Familiarity with commissioning safety requirements and CDM regulations.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

    Certifications:

    • CITB SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
    • EUSR Water Hygiene certification.

    Desirable:

    • Knowledge of Southern Water standards and procedures.
    • Competence in using commissioning software and tools.
    • Previous experience with AMP frameworks.
