Project Manager – Wastewater Rising Main Installation
Location: Swindon
Rate: £550 per day (Inside IR35)
Duration: Contract until 2027
Working Pattern: 2 days on site/office, 3 days from home
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a major wastewater rising main installation project. This long-term contract, running until 2027, offers the opportunity to lead a high-profile scheme within the water sector.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of project delivery, from planning and programming through to execution and completion, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency throughout. This role is offered on a hybrid basis, with two days per week spent on site or in the office, and three days working from home.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the delivery of a major wastewater rising main installation project.

Develop, monitor, and report on project programmes, budgets, and progress.

Liaise closely with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and the internal project team.

Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Oversee site activities, including direction of site managers and engineers.

Prepare and review RAMS, risk registers, and project documentation.

Drive performance and resolve technical or delivery challenges as they arise.

Provide clear leadership to the project team, ensuring collaboration and successful outcomes.
Requirements

Proven experience as a Project Manager in the water or civil engineering sectors.

Strong background in pipeline or rising main installation projects (desirable).

Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.

Ability to manage project budgets, programmes, and resources effectively.

Knowledge of relevant health & safety and environmental legislation.

Relevant industry qualifications (e.g. SMSTS, CSCS, degree/HND in engineering or related field).
