Project Manager – Clean Water & Reservoir Project

Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of clean water infrastructure works, including treatment assets, reservoir improvements, and associated civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation (MEICA) works in Tunbridge Wells.
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project delivery from planning through to commissioning and handover, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The role requires strong stakeholder management skills and experience delivering water sector projects within live operational environments.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the delivery of clean water and reservoir infrastructure projects from inception to completion.

Manage project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to achieve project objectives.

Develop and maintain project execution plans, programmes, and delivery strategies.

Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

Monitor project progress, budgets, risks, and opportunities, implementing corrective actions where required.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, operational teams, regulators, and key stakeholders.

Coordinate civil, mechanical, electrical, and process engineering activities across the project lifecycle.

Manage commercial performance alongside commercial and quantity surveying teams.

Lead project meetings and provide regular reporting on programme, cost, risk, and performance.

Oversee commissioning activities and ensure successful handover to operations.

Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with contract requirements, specifications, and industry standards.

Drive continuous improvement and promote best practice across project delivery.
Essential Skills & Experience

Proven experience delivering water, wastewater, utilities, or major infrastructure projects as a Project Manager.

Strong understanding of clean water treatment processes, reservoirs, pumping stations, and associated infrastructure.

Experience managing multidisciplinary teams within live operational environments.

Demonstrable knowledge of NEC contracts and project controls.

Strong financial and commercial awareness, including budget and cost management.

Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Experience managing subcontractors and supply chain partners.

Ability to identify and mitigate project risks effectively.

Competent in project planning and reporting tools, including Microsoft Project and Primavera P6 (desirable).
Qualifications

Degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.

SMSTS certification.

CSCS card.
-
Full UK driving licence.

APM, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management qualification desirable.
