    Freelance Project Manager – National Travel Role

    £500/550 Per day Inside IR35 (& Expenses)

    Remote working with National Travel

    As a Project Manager, you’ll oversee a diverse programme of works for clients such as the Canal & River Trust and other organisations managing river, canal, and reservoir assets. Projects will range from emergency response schemes to maintenance and capital works, requiring both technical expertise and strong organisational skills. This role involves national travel to various project sites.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • End-to-End Project Delivery: Collaborate with Estimating, Commercial, and Project Management teams to take projects from concept through to pricing, execution, and closure.
    • Team Performance: Oversee and assess the performance of the Site Management Team, implementing improvements where necessary.
    • Documentation Oversight: Review and approve critical site documentation, including Construction Phase Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Manage operational communication and relationships with clients, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and government agencies (e.g., the Environment Agency). Provide regular, accurate reports and forecasts to all stakeholders.
    • Project Fulfillment: Ensure all contracts are executed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards while maximising profitability and customer satisfaction. Adhere to best practices and policies related to project and site management.
    • Team Leadership: Lead an established team of site professionals, including Agents, Site Managers, and General Foremen.

    Ideal Candidate Profile:

    This freelance opportunity is ideal for a Project Manager who:

    • Holds a relevant degree (or equivalent) and has significant experience in regulated utilities infrastructure or the built environment sector.
    • Possesses in-depth knowledge of NEC4 contracts and Health & Safety legislation, including CDM regulations.
    • Is proficient in using tools like CEMAR and SharePoint.
    • Thrives in a role requiring travel and flexibility, ensuring consistent on-site presence where needed.
