Help Shape the Future of One of the UK’s Most Important Nuclear Sites

Are you an experienced Senior Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA) Designer looking to work on a project that will safeguard critical infrastructure for decades to come?

We’re recruiting for an exciting opportunity to join a major programme at Sellafield, supporting the refurbishment of Building B314-a strategically important facility that provides welfare and access to the active areas of the site. This is your chance to contribute to a project that will extend the life of a key operational asset well into the next century.

If you enjoy solving complex engineering challenges, leading multidisciplinary teams, and delivering projects in highly regulated environments, we’d love to hear from you.

    The Opportunity

You’ll play a key role in delivering the feasibility study and option development for the refurbishment of the B314 building envelope, including roof remediation works designed to extend the operational life of this essential facility.

Working alongside experienced engineering professionals, you’ll help develop practical, cost-effective engineering solutions while ensuring the building remains fully operational throughout the project.

This is an excellent opportunity to influence the early stages of a significant infrastructure project within one of the UK’s most technically challenging environments.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    • Lead and contribute to the feasibility study for the B314 Roof Refurbishment project.
    • Develop engineering options aligned with the Outline Requirements Specification.
    • Deliver complex Civil, Structural & Architectural engineering work packages.
    • Produce innovative, practical and cost-effective engineering solutions.
    • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities across project teams.
    • Support and mentor engineers while promoting engineering excellence.
    • Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs and technical assurance activities.
    • Ensure compliance with company Quality Management Systems, industry standards and nuclear safety requirements.
    • Manage technical aspects of engineering delivery from concept through feasibility.

    What We’re Looking For

✔ 5+ years’ engineering design experience.

✔ At least 5 years working within a highly regulated industry, ideally including 3+ years in nuclear.

✔ Experience supervising or leading engineering teams.

✔ Strong Civil, Structural & Architectural engineering background.

✔ Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities and manage complex work packages.

✔ Experience participating in design reviews, HAZOPs and technical assurance processes.

✔ Familiarity with applicable engineering codes, standards and safety legislation.

✔ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

✔ Ability to work independently while supporting wider engineering teams.

    Why Join This Project?

    • Work on one of the UK’s highest-profile nuclear infrastructure programmes.
    • Influence engineering decisions from the earliest feasibility stages.
    • Long-term contract offering stability.
    • Hybrid working arrangement.
    • Competitive £41-£45 per hour (Inside IR35).
