Are you a Senior Control, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer looking to apply your expertise within one of the UK’s most complex nuclear environments? We are seeking a Senior CE&I Engineer to support a range of engineering and decommissioning projects across the Sellafield programme, delivering robust CE&I design and safety documentation within a highly regulated setting.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to nationally significant nuclear decommissioning work, supporting the delivery of safety-critical systems that underpin long-term hazard reduction at Sellafield.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Deliver CE&I design work packages across a variety of nuclear engineering and decommissioning projects

    • Produce and check design substantiation, safety documentation, and technical deliverables

    • Provide expert CE&I input into design justification and safety case documentation

    • Develop and review functional safety deliverables in line with IEC 61508 (up to SIL 1)

    • Resolve complex technical issues using safe, compliant, and pragmatic engineering solutions

    • Support installation, commissioning, and documentation activities where required

    What We’re Looking For

    • CEng or IEng preferred, or equivalent experience

    • Strong background in CE&I design within nuclear or other highly regulated industries

    • Demonstrated experience delivering fit-for-purpose engineering solutions to time and budget

    • Solid understanding of functional safety, SIL-rated systems, and safety case development

    • Ability to communicate complex technical issues and solutions clearly to stakeholders

    Technical Knowledge & Standards

    Experience or familiarity with:

    • CE&I regulations and standards including CDM, PUWER, BS EN 13849 / 62061, BS 7671

    • Industrial installation standards, UKCA / CE marking

    • Engineering drawings, calculations, and design documentation

    Desirable Skills

    • Design risk assessments, installation method statements, and engineering output packs

    • Panel build documentation, technical files, and O&M manuals

    • Experience with PLC / SCADA control systems and industrial network architectures

    • A pragmatic, risk-based engineering approach grounded in sound judgement

    Why Join?

    • £51-£56/hour (Inside IR35)

    • Hybrid working model – 3 days in Warrington

    • Opportunity to work across major Sellafield engineering and decommissioning programmes

    • Technically challenging safety-critical work with genuine national importance

    • Join a highly experienced and collaborative CE&I engineering team

Apply now to play a key role in delivering safe, effective engineering solutions across some of the UK’s most important nuclear projects.
