We are recruiting for 3 Senior Mechanical Engineers to join a major programme with a leading Tier 1 contractor supporting one of the UK’s most complex nuclear sites.
The role will involve providing plant-facing engineering and design support across operational and decommissioning facilities, delivering modifications, maintenance-driven design changes, asset care improvements, and solutions to emergent plant issues. Working within an integrated, multi-disciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for producing and reviewing high-quality engineering deliverables while supporting the safe and efficient operation of nuclear facilities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and deliver mechanical design and engineering packages.
    • Produce and review calculations, specifications, technical reports and design documentation.
    • Support plant modifications, asset care and operational improvement projects.
    • Interface with operations, project teams and other engineering disciplines.
    • Ensure compliance with nuclear industry standards and design governance processes.
    • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers where required.

    Requirements

    • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
    • Significant experience delivering mechanical engineering design within highly regulated industries (nuclear, defence, petrochemical, oil & gas, power generation or similar).
    • Experience producing and checking engineering calculations and technical documentation.
    • Strong understanding of engineering lifecycle and design processes.
    • Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary project teams.
    • Previous Sellafield or nuclear site experience is highly desirable.
    • Chartered Engineer status (or working towards Chartership) would be advantageous.

This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term contract on a high-profile programme delivering critical engineering support across operational nuclear facilities.
