Shape the Future of the UK’s Nuclear Fuel Cycle
We’re recruiting three experienced Senior Process Engineers to join a high-profile programme supporting the UK’s Reprocessed Uranium (RepU) project. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in one of the UK’s most strategically important nuclear initiatives, helping develop solutions for the management and future use of reprocessed uranium within a highly regulated environment.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you’ll provide process engineering expertise throughout the project lifecycle, supporting concept development, design, technical assurance and engineering delivery on complex nuclear process systems.

    The Role
As a Senior Process Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and process engineering support across a range of engineering activities, ensuring solutions are safe, compliant and fit for purpose. You’ll work closely with mechanical, EC&I, civil, safety case and operations teams to develop robust process designs that meet programme objectives.
    Typical responsibilities will include:

    • Delivering process engineering solutions from concept through to detailed design.
    • Producing and reviewing process engineering documentation including PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances, design calculations and technical reports.
    • Supporting process safety studies including HAZID, HAZOP and design reviews.
    • Developing process specifications and engineering design packages.
    • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve technical challenges.
    • Supporting regulatory compliance and nuclear safety requirements.
    • Providing technical input into design reviews, client meetings and stakeholder engagements.
    • Mentoring junior engineers where appropriate and supporting technical governance.

    About the Project
The role supports the Reprocessed Uranium (RepU) programme, focused on the management and future utilisation of uranium recovered from spent nuclear fuel. This nationally significant project offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative engineering solutions within one of the UK’s most complex and highly regulated sectors.
    What We’re Looking For
    You’ll ideally have:

    • Degree qualification in Chemical or Process Engineering (or equivalent).
    • Significant experience as a Process Engineer within the nuclear sector or another highly regulated industry.
    • Experience producing process design documentation and engineering calculations.
    • Knowledge of nuclear process plant design and engineering standards.
    • Experience participating in HAZOP, HAZID and other process safety activities.
    • Strong understanding of engineering design lifecycles and multidisciplinary project delivery.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) would be advantageous.

    Security Requirements
Due to the nature of this work, candidates must be eligible to obtain Security Check (SC) Clearance.
    What’s on Offer?

    • 3 exciting contract opportunities
    • Hybrid working with 3 days per week on site
    • 12-month contract
    • Competitive rates of £63.00-£76.00/hour Umbrella or £46.85-£56.46/hour PAYE
    • Opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant nuclear programme
    • Work alongside leading engineering specialists on technically challenging projects

If you’re an experienced Senior Process Engineer looking to make a real impact on the future of the UK’s nuclear industry, we’d love to hear from you.
