    Project: HS2 Major Projects – Area North – Feeder

    Contract Type: Freelance
    Contract Length: 6-Month Initial Contract
    Pay Rate: £450/day (Inside IR35)
    Overview:
    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Engineer with strong setting out experience to join our team on the prestigious HS2 project in Birmingham. This is a crucial role within the HS2 Major Projects – Area North – Feeder segment, providing an excellent opportunity to contribute to one of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects. The initial contract is for 6 months, with potential for extension based on project requirements and individual performance.
    Key Responsibilities:

    • Setting out: Accurately setting out works according to design plans, specifications, and tolerances.
    • Managing and supervising all on-site engineering activities, ensuring they align with project specifications, safety standards, and deadlines.
    • Conducting site surveys, inspections, and quality checks to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
    • Coordinating with the project management team, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of site operations.
    • Monitoring progress and providing regular reports to the project management team.
    • Ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience as a Site Engineer with a focus on setting out.
    • Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction processes, and relevant legislation.
    • Proficiency with surveying instruments and CAD software.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
    • A valid CSCS card.
    • Previous experience on major infrastructure projects, ideally within the rail sector.
