Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer

Location: Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth
Rate: Up to £380 per day Umbrella PAYE + £50 per day (taxable) Working Away Allowance
Contract: 12 Months
Hours: 45 Hours per Week
Security Clearance: Must be eligible for BPSS/SC Clearance

The Role

We’re recruiting experienced Site Engineers / Setting Out Engineers to join a major infrastructure project at Devonport Dockyard.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a long-term, high-profile project where quality, precision and technical excellence are key.

Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out using Leica or Trimble equipment.
• Establish survey control and ensure works are built to specification.
• Produce as-built surveys and site records.
• Complete quality documentation and inspection records.
• Support site teams and subcontractors throughout construction.
• Ensure works are delivered safely and to the required quality standards.

Requirements

• Experience as a Site Engineer, Setting Out Engineer, Survey Engineer or similar.
• Strong setting out and surveying background.
• Experience using Leica or Trimble equipment.
• Good understanding of QA/QC processes and quality documentation.
• Experience on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.

Experience within nuclear, defence, highways, water, marine, rail or other heavy civils projects is highly desirable.
