    Job Title: Nights Engineer – M25 North Near Schemes

    Location: M25 North (Various Sites) St Albans – Main Depot

    Contract Duration: 6 Months

    Rate: £400-£450 per day, with an uplift of x1.25 for night shifts

    Job Description:

    We are seeking a highly skilled Nights Engineer to join our team for a 6-month project on the M25 North Near Schemes. The ideal candidate will have experience working on similar infrastructure projects, specifically with the RD8200 utility locator, and must hold a valid EUSR (Energy & Utility Skills Register) certification.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and manage night-time engineering operations on various M25 North Near Scheme sites, ensuring all works are completed to the highest safety and quality standards.
    • Utilize the RD8200 utility locator to detect, trace, and map buried utilities, ensuring all operations are conducted with minimal disruption and maximum accuracy.
    • Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, and project managers to ensure that project milestones and deadlines are met.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, including the provision of detailed risk assessments and method statements for night work.
    • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and addressing any issues that may arise during the night shifts.
    • Maintain accurate records of all work carried out, including detailed reports on any incidents or near misses.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Valid EUSR certification is essential.
    • Proven experience working as a site engineer, preferably in highway or infrastructure projects.
    • Proficiency in using the RD8200 utility locator is highly desirable.
    • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, particularly in relation to night-time operations.
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage and coordinate night-time workforces.
    • Ability to work independently, make decisions under pressure, and solve problems on the go.
