    About the Project

    The St Austell Link Road project is a significant infrastructure development aimed at improving connectivity, easing traffic congestion, and supporting economic growth in the region. This high-profile project involves road construction, drainage, earthworks, and highway structures.

    We are seeking an experienced Sub Agent with a strong background in highways to join our team on a freelance basis. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing site operations, ensuring effective coordination, and driving the successful delivery of this landmark project.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Site Management:

      • Manage daily site operations, ensuring alignment with project schedules and specifications.
      • Lead and oversee site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project delivery.
    • Planning and Coordination:

      • Develop and implement short-term programs to support project milestones.
      • Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, and design teams to address technical challenges and optimize workflows.
    • Quality Control:

      • Monitor and enforce adherence to quality standards, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with design specifications and project requirements.
      • Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain high levels of quality and compliance.
    • Health & Safety:

      • Promote a culture of safety on-site, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
      • Conduct site inductions, risk assessments, and toolbox talks to reinforce safe working practices.
    • Technical Problem Solving:

      • Provide technical support to resolve issues arising during construction.
      • Act as the key liaison between the project manager and site teams to address technical queries and challenges.
    • Stakeholder Engagement:

      • Communicate effectively with clients, design teams, and external stakeholders to provide progress updates and resolve issues.
      • Represent the project in site meetings and briefings.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Educational Background:

      • Degree or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
    • Experience:

      • Significant experience in highways or infrastructure projects, with proven ability to lead and manage site operations.
      • Knowledge of highways construction processes, including earthworks, drainage, and structures.
    • Skills:

      • Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
      • Proficiency in using AutoCAD and other relevant software.
      • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and quality assurance processes.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Certifications:

      • CSCS card (essential).
      • SMSTS (essential).
      • First Aid at Work (desirable).
