Site Engineer
Job Title: Site Engineer – Major STW Upgrade
Location: Luton
Rate: £450-£500 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract: Freelance, long-term
The Project
We are recruiting for a Site Engineer to support the delivery of a major Sewage Treatment Works (STW) upgrade in Luton. This is a flagship AMP scheme with significant civil, structural, and MEICA works – an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to one of the most high-profile projects in the sector.
Key Responsibilities:

Setting out, levelling, and surveying across civils, structures, and MEICA elements.

Checking plans, drawings, and quantities for accuracy of calculations.

Overseeing QA, ITPs, and site records.

Providing technical support to supervisors and operatives.

Assisting in the management of subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.

Supporting Section Engineers and Site Management in monitoring progress against programme.

Promoting and ensuring compliance with H&S and environmental requirements.
Requirements:

Previous experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering or water infrastructure projects (STW/WTW highly desirable).

Strong setting out and QA background.

Familiarity with total stations, GPS, and AutoCAD.

CSCS card required; SSSTS/SMSTS advantageous.

Relevant qualifications (Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent).

Strong communication and teamwork skills.
