Job Title: Site Engineer – Major STW Upgrade

Location: Luton
Rate: £450-£500 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract: Freelance, long-term

The Project

We are recruiting for a Site Engineer to support the delivery of a major Sewage Treatment Works (STW) upgrade in Luton. This is a flagship AMP scheme with significant civil, structural, and MEICA works – an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to one of the most high-profile projects in the sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting out, levelling, and surveying across civils, structures, and MEICA elements.

• Checking plans, drawings, and quantities for accuracy of calculations.

• Overseeing QA, ITPs, and site records.

• Providing technical support to supervisors and operatives.

• Assisting in the management of subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.

• Supporting Section Engineers and Site Management in monitoring progress against programme.

• Promoting and ensuring compliance with H&S and environmental requirements.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering or water infrastructure projects (STW/WTW highly desirable).

• Strong setting out and QA background.

• Familiarity with total stations, GPS, and AutoCAD.

• CSCS card required; SSSTS/SMSTS advantageous.

• Relevant qualifications (Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent).

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
